Pistachio Ice Cream Sandwich

Pistachio ice cream with pistachio studded shortbread made for a Wonderful Pistachio dinner that was supposed to be for SXSW, but then… well you know. So we handed them out for free at Gin Bar the weekend before the world shut down.

Nian Gao, Fa Gao, & Sesame Cookie

For a high-end Chinese New Year party, we served these three desserts. Nian Gao is also called Chinese New Year's Cake that is made with rice flour coconut, almond, and sesame *gf,df. Fa Gao is also called Prosperity Cake is a steamed dumpling cake and this one is made with Chinese Five Spice and Luxando cherries. And last is a sesame shortbread cookie made with sesame oil and paste and finished with white and black sesame seeds.

Mahua Donuts & Almond Cookies

For our low-brow Chinese New Year party. Mahua is a fried twisted donut, in these cause made with Chinese Five Spice. And the Almond Cookie is my twist on the tradition good luck cookie, but chewy inspiration from my Italian roots.
